Jimmy is a true problem solver
"My ceramic tile shower was a mess. For twenty years my wife and I had battled black mold. It was in the grout joints in the shower floor and would also climb up the shower walls. We would clean and scrub only to have it reappear a few months later. Finally, in desperation, I started making some calls. The first guy came out and said he could clean up, regrout, and seal the shower for a couple of grand. He said that the mortar bed under the tile was saturated with water, which I knew, but gave no solution on how to address it. Enter the Grout Medic. Jimmy came out and took one look at the shower and said the weep holes on the shower drain are clogged. Water cannot drain from the shower pan. The weep holes are channels built into the drain to allow water to exit the pan. For a better picture of how a tile shower drain works, YouTube is an excellent source. Jimmy said before doing anything we needed to relieve the water from the pan. He chiseled out right around the visible drain and unscrewed the drain barrel. By doing this he gained access to the weep holes. By using tools similar to an ice pick he went to work cleaning out the weep holes. He was pulling bits of silicone caulk out of the holes. As he cleared the holes, water began to flow into the drain. His thinking was that the tile guy must have put silicone caulk under the tile flange of the drain, thus sealing up the pan from draining. After leaving the drain open for about a week to let the pan dry out some, Jimmy returned with a new drain barrel and installed it. After 20 years I now had a shower drain that could function properly. Jimmy then scheduled one of his grout techs, Jose, to come and clean up all the mold and calcium deposits from the floor and walls. With the regrouting and cleanup, it was a full day job. To sum up, I highly recommend Jimmy and his team if you are having problems with your grout and tile. Jimmy is a true problem solver."
